MILLPORT, Ala. — Rudolph Stripling, 84, died April 30, 2013, at his residence. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Kimbel, Sonny McLellan and Les Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in the Millport City Cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to services. He was the son of Murry Cluff and Sarah Jane Miller Stripling and a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend. He was a member of the Church of Christ and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, FL for 34 years. He and his wife, Betsy lived in Florida and raised their son, Jim. They retired back to Millport in 1991. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Stripling and his sister, Peggy Stripling Herring. Survivors include his wife, Betsy Stripling of Millport; son, Jim Rudolph Stripling of Rockledge, FL; granddaughter, Kalen Stripling Huffman (Jared) of Seattle, WA; grandson, Connor Dalton Stripling of Rockledge, FL; sisters, Sybil Estes of Columbus, MS and Bobbie Fant of Columbus, MS; brothers, James Stripling of Trussville, AL and Richard Stripling of Columbus, MS; nine nephews and six nieces; numerous Christian brothers and sisters; and lifelong friends, J.W. Richards of Millport, AL and Howard Sinor of Palm Bay, FL. Pallbearers are Charles Stripling, Allen Estes, Dale Stripling, Kenny Fant, Mark Herring and Todd Stripling.
