COLUMBUS — Lula Bell Smith, 72, died April 29, 2013. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at West Lowndes High School with the Rev. Sammie Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon to 6 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Chapel. Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 3, 1941, to the late Ellis and Rosie Lee Jennings. She was a member of Prairie Chapel MB Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eric Henderson. Survivors include her husband, Mack Arthur Smith; son, Cornell Smith of Upper Marlboro, Md.; daughters, Renate Mitchell of Las Vegas, Dwylia Elliott of Starkville and Kewanda Smith of Biloxi; brother, Fred Jennings Sr. of Columbus; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Floyd Harris Jr., Jimmy Hawthorn, Brendell Washington, Jessie Hawthorn, Charlie Brown and Jessie Sherrod.
