COLUMBUS — Robert Longstreet, 63, died July 16, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Golden Triangle. Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest MB Church with Merlin Grassiree officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-8 p.m. at Carter’s of Columbus. Mr. Longstreet was born June 23, 1950, to the late Willie Longstreet and Juanita Longstreet. He was formerly employed as a machine operator with Airline Manufacturing. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest MB Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lucious Dowd, Aaron Longstreet, Fred Longstreet and Precious Longstreet. Survivors include his fiancée, Geneva Taylor; children, Debra Denise Green of Enterprise, Ala., and Dacron Lenard Taylor of Columbus; siblings, Willie Longstreet Jr., George Longstreet and Evelyn Longstreet, all of Lexington, Ky., Mahalia Skinner, Juanita Williams and Jeffery Longstreet, all of Brooksville, Omega Tate of Columbus and Maggie Banks of Los Angeles; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
