COLUMBUS — Emma Jean Edwards, 98, died July 19, 2013. Services are Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Glenn Chapel. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation is today from 2-7 p.m. at Lee-Sykes of Columbus. Mrs. Edwards was born May 6, 1924, to the late Plese and Hattie B. Brackett Lee. She was a member of Glenn Chapel. She was formerly employed with the Tennessee Board of Education and as a teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Henry C. Hill Jr.; her daughter, Ida Kate Edwards; and brother, Tom Marshall. Survivors include her daughters, Virginia Brewer and Hattie Mae Parks, both of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Willie Lavender, Travis Jones, Tommy Sanders, Carl Smith, Calvin Edwards and Johnny Smith.
