STARKVILLE — Lt. Col. John David Albritton, 86, died Nov. 28, 2013, at OCH Regional Medical Center. Services are Monday at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Starkville with Dr. Chip Stevens and the Rev. Clifton Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Park. Visitation is Monday from 1 p.m. until service at the church. Mr. Albritton was a graduate of MSU with a bachelors and masters degree in Agronomy and Seed Technology. He was a retired army Lt. Colonel and a member of the First Baptist Church of Starkville. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #5773 and the American Legion Post 13. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry H. and Laura Belle Brown Albritton; sister, Pauline A. Moak; brothers, Joe W., Pete, Harold and Barney Albritton. Survivors include his wife, Frankine B. Albritton of Starkville; daughters, Laura Susan A. deFresse of Orlando, Fla., and Martha Lynn A. Magnus of Sugarland, Texas; son, David R. Albritton of Starkville; sister, Betty A. Templeton of Starkville; brother, Paul D. Albritton of Liberty; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Starkville, 106 E. Lampkin Street, Starkville, MS 39759 or to Mississippi Lung Association, 353 N. Mart Plaza., Jackson, MS 39206.
