MATHISTON — Minnie Lee Thompson Blasingame, 78, died Nov. 29, 2013. Services are today at 2 p.m. at Clarkson Baptist Church in Mathiston with Jeff Gilder and Steve Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Clarkson Cemetery. Welch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Blasingame was born April 3, 1935, to the late Sarah Lou and Raymond O. Thompson. She was a graduate of Maben High School and was a member of Clarkson Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ina Oswalt Thompson; sisters, Virgie Clardy and Ida Mae McMinn; son, William Claude Blasingame; sisters, Virige Clardy and Ida Mae McMinn; one infant brother, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, William Blasingame in Mathiston; daughters, Ronda Blasingame and Wonda Oswalt, both of Weir, Sarah Arnold of West Point, Edna Blasingame of Ackerman, Michelle Blasingame and Melissa Blasingame, both of Mathiston; sisters, Beatrice Abels of Kosciusko and Ann Golson of Columbus; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Earnest Oswalt, David Oswalt, Lester Oswalt, Roger Turner, Raymond Turner, Rayford Turner, Carl Clardy and William Wells.
