PHILADELPHIA — James M. Fields, 76, died April 18, 2014, at Rush Foundation hospital in Meridian. Services are Friday 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point with Bobby Richardson officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is entrusted with arrangements. Mr. Fields was born May 27, 1937, in Maben, to the late O.D. and Cora Mae Langford Fields. He was formerly employed with General Tire in Columbus. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Margret S. Fields of Philadelphia; sons, James Rex Fields of Safford, Ariz., and John Wesley Fields of Columbus; and 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers are Dalton Fields, Layton Fields, John Fields, Rex Fields, Chase Fields and Tony Williams. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 2219 East Main St., Columbus, MS 39701.
