STARKVILLE — Cynthia Curan Thompson, 58, died April 24, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Services are Sunday at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Hilton Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Chapel Cemetery in Sturgis with the Rev. Eddie Painter. Visitation is Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Mrs. Thompson was a member of The Chapel, and was formerly employed with Bancorpsouth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Teddy and Dot Curan. She is survived by her husband, Lowell Thompson; son, Daniel Thompson of Calhoun City; sisters, Bonnie Gammill of Northport, Ala., and Connie Malone of Sturgis; and three grandsons.
