CARROLLTON, Ala. — Clayton C. “Booty” Cox Jr., 89, died April 24, 2014, at Pickens County Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held at Carrollton City Cemetery with the Revs. Tom Hammons and Tommy Winders officiating. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform, Ala., is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a graduate of the University of Alabama. He was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church and was formerly employed as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He served on the Pickens County Water Authority Board in Carrollton and was a former city councilman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Shaw Cox; parents, Clayton C. Cox Sr. and Evelyn Cox; sister, Mary Cox Sims; brothers, John B. Cox and Pat Cox. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Durel; sons, Keith W. Cox, Mike Cox and David Cox; sister, Frances Jones; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Memorials may be made to Carrollton Baptist Church, P.O.
