BRANDON — Betty McQuien Palmer, 87, died July 22, 2014, at Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center. Services are 2 p.m. today at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel in Macon with the Rev. Rick6y Glenn officiating. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Palmer was born in Louisville on Sept. 30, 1926, to the late Hugh Vivian and Mary Jeanette Bradshaw McQuien. She earned her nursing degree from Rush Infirmary in Meridian and was formerly employed as a nurse at Noxubee General Hospital. She was a member of Macon First Baptist Church and a member of the Dancing Rabbit Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Palmer; one son, Robert C. Palmer Jr.; and four siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Welch of Raymond; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
