Ramon Lancaster

ETHELSVILLE, Ala. — Ramon Leroy Lancaster, 71, died July 22, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services are 11 a.m. today at Ethelsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Mel Howton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. Skelton Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Mr. Lancaster was born in Carrollton, Alabama, on Jan. 9, 1943, to the late Elmer E. Lancaster and Mary O. Harcrow Lancaster. He was formerly employed with Mount Vernon Mills and was veteran of the US Army National Guard. He attended Ethelsville Baptist Church and was a member of Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, Southern Cruisers Car Club and was a founding member of Pine Grove Hunting Club. He is survived by his wife, Rita Estes Lancaster; sisters, Marie James, Audry Gore and Diane Bain; brother, John Earl Lancaster; and a special friend, Danny Malone. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Jaynes, Alan Jaynes, Mike Gore, Jimmy Bain, Tim Livingston and John Earl Lancaster Jr. Memorials may be made to Ethelsville Baptist Church Building Fund, 230 Main St., Ethelsville, AL 35261.
