STARKVILLE — Henry Kirvin Stringer, 97, died May 24, 2015, at Vicker’s Personal Care Home in Starkville. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Starkville with the Rev. Clifton Curtis officiating. Visitation is one hour before service time at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Calvert Funeral Home. Mr. Stringer was born in Delhi, Oklahoma, on Feb. 19, 1918, to the late Herbert L. and Mary Mitchell Stringer. He was a pastor in Louisiana, South Dakota, Mississippi and Colorado, and formerly employed as a consultant for A.B. Culbertson in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Starkville and a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife, Betty Butler Stringer of Starkville; daughters, Kay Watson of Denver, Susan Heindrichs and Stephanie Lain, both of Austin, Texas, and Carol Stringer Roberson of Hereford, Texas; son, Hank Stringer of Austin; five grandchildren; and sister, Selma Woodring of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
