Clara Kemp

BROOKSVILLE — Clara Jourdan Kemp, 97, died July 31, 2015, at her home. Services were arranged by Cockrell Funeral Home. Mrs. Kemp was born in Gholson on Feb. 21, 1918, to the late Barney Jackson and Mable Clark Jordan. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kemp; daughter, Sidney Ruth Kemp; son, John Kemp; brothers, J.W., T.C., Dan, Wilbur and Roosevelt Jourdan; sisters, Lorraine Box, Elizabeth Cade; granddaughter, Heather Garner; and grandsons, Randy Wigley and David Garner. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy K. Garner of Caledonia, Jean K. Aspenwell of Wilmer, Alabama; son, Thomas Kemp of Eight Mile, Alabama; sisters, Hazel Davis and Earlene Howell, both of Starkville; twelve grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.
