Clevester Rice

MACON —Clevester “Clee” Rice, 86, died April 21, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at New Hope UM Church with the Rev. Ricky Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Mariah Missionary Church. Visitation is today from noon-5 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services. Mr. Rice was born Sept. 30, 1930, to the late Tennie Patterson Rice and William Rice. He was previously employed as a factory worker with Delta Boral Birck Yard and Barge Lumber Yard. He was a member of New Hope UM Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, R.C. Rice and D. Earl Rice; sisters, Rosie B. Frazier and Willie Lee Walker. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rice; daughters, Sherry Sandifer and Diane Tate, both of Macon; son, Terry Rice of Macon; sisters, Ruthie Mae Beck and Bernice Phillips of St. Louis, Misourri, Idella Hibbler and Sadie Bradford of Macon; brothers, Coty C. Rice of Macon and L.C. Rice of Starkville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Tate Jr., Cleveland Rice, Armoni Clark, Toddrick Tate, Zeterrious Rice and Terry Rice Jr.
