WEST POINT — Richard Francis Echols, 91, died May 26, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point. Services are today at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Mr. Echols was born Sept. 3, 1924, to the late Susie Lee Mobley and Joel Hunter Echols. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was previously employed as a service manager and mechanic for Mitchell Buick and taught auto mechanics at the West Point Votec. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Alice Echols of West Point; sons, Gary Echols of West Point and Raymond Echols of Huntsville; daughter, Debbie Chrestman of Wesson; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Pallbearers will be Kyle Chrestman, Kody Chrestman, Hunter Echols, Joshua Easterling, Hall Ford and Hubert Caston.
