Charles Lacy McAdams, 89, of Ethelsville, Alabama, died June 23, 2016, at his residence. Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport with Billy Sams officiiating and Herbert Junkins assisting. Burial followed in Millport City Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. McAdams was born Sept. 3, 1926, to the late Lee McAdams and Bell Stokes McAdams in Lamar County. He was previously employed with Mississippi Valley Gas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters; and one son. He is survived by his wife, Doris M. McAdams; daughter, Carolyn McAdams Sams (Billy) of Sumter, South Carolina; son, Raymond Bruce Patrick (Dean) of Ethelsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Bill Sams (Tonya) of Sumter, South Carolina, Kelli Edwards (David) of Ethelsville and Keven Patrick; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Sams, Danielle Patrick, Jacob Stripling and Destin Edwards. Pallbearers were Leon McAdams, Donald McAdams, Kenneth McAdams, Eric McAdams, David Edwards and Jimmy Foxhall. Honorary pallbearers were Ervin Richardson, Herbert Junkins, Wayman Fields, Clark Hardin, Mervil Wheat, James Wharton and the sunday school class at Pleasant Hill Church. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund and Alabama Hospice Care.
