Edith McCullough Taylor age 93, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at her residence in Steens. Services were held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Willis Logan officiating, burial followed at Asbury Cemetery, Lamar County, AL. Visitation was held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Taylor was born on Friday, October 12, 1923 in Lamar County, AL to the late Lewis and Sally Shaw McCullough. She attended Woodland Church of Christ and was a retired employee of United Technologies. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, riding in the boat, good music and spending time at “The Junction”. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd B. Taylor, her sons Bennie Taylor, and Bobby Taylor, her sisters, Faye Aldridge, Grace Redus, Laverne Aldridge, and her brothers, Grady McCullough, Arlin McCullough, and Joe McCullough. Survivors include: Son: Donald Taylor (Gloria), Steens, MS; Brothers: O’Neal McCullough (Carol), Pell City, AL, Lloyd McCullough (Evelyn), Decatur, GA; Grandchildren: Richard Taylor, Lora Anderson (Shawn), David Taylor; Great Grandchildren: Brittany Taylor, Morgan Taylor, Cody Anderson, Cade Anderson. Serving as pallbearers were: David Taylor, Richard Taylor, Shawn Anderson, Melton Miller, Rufus Mason, and Joe Young. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Brett Brown, Dr. Bart Williams, Friends at “The Junction”, Staff of Camella Hospice, Jay Pruitt, Bruce McCool, Larry Aldridge, and Terry Aldridge.
