COOKSVILLE — Ruth Trimble Sparkman, 98, died Aug. 20, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cooksville United Methodist Church with Glen Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sparkman was born June 10, 1919, to the late Robert Minor and Clemie Eiland Trimble. She was a graduate of Macon High School and attended Mississippi State College for Women. She was previously employed as a bookkeeper with Chancellor Wholesale Grocery. She was a member of Cooksville United Methodist Church and of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul P. Sparkman; brother, Louis Trimble; and sister, Ethel Trimble. She is survived by her daughters, Clemie McGee of Macon and Ethel Troyanek of Gulf Shores, Alabama; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
