William Lannie Perkins age 87 died Saturday, December 02, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Services will be held Wednesday, December 06, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Yorkville Heights Church with Rev. John Rhodes, Rev. Granville Wiggins and other family members officiating, burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday December 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Perkins was born on Friday, July 18, 1930 in Fayette, AL to the late Otis Posey and Birdie Ann Adams Perkins. He was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church and a retired machinist and welder at Mitchell Steel Buildings. Mr. Perkins enjoyed hunting and fishing and any activity that involved being outdoors. He touched many lives and was considered a 2nd father by some. He was a very generous, giving, numerous man who was deeply loved and respected by his family & friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings J.W. Perkins, Ruby Perkins Coleman, Annie Ruth Perkins Gardner, Rev. Lawrence O. Perkins Survivors: Wife: Mildred Clark Perkins, Columbus, MS; Daughters: Gloria Rhodes (John), House Springs, MO, Gwen Slaughter (David), Columbus, MS; Sisters: Annette Colvin, Shirley Williams, Myra Frye (Larry); Grandchildren: Jonathan Rhodes (La Ronna), Eric Rhodes (Ashley), Alex Rhodes (Krystie), Jennifer Slaughter, Amanda Slaughter, Derek Slaughter; Great Grandchildren: Emerald Rhodes, Koa Rhodes, Abigail Rhodes, Hania Rhodes, Hayven Rhodes, Arrow Rhodes (Tripp), Morgan Martinez Slaughter, Madison Martinez Slaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Jonathan Rhodes, Eric Rhodes, Alex Rhodes, Derek Slaughter, Jonathan Frye, Steven Williams, Jamie Perkins. Honorary Pallbearers: Koa Rhodes, Morgan Martinez Slaughter.
