WEST POINT — Emma Seitz Tkach, 86, died Jan. 1, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point. Memorial services are Friday at 4 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. A private family burial will follow at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Visitation is Friday two hours prior to service at the funeral home. Mrs. Tkach was born Feb. 14, 1931, in West Point to the late Edward and Ethel Seitz. She was a 1948 graduate of West Point High School and a 1952 graduate of Mississippi State College for Women. After graduation, she taught high school physical education and coached girls’ basketball in Shaw and Belleville, Illinois. She was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church EPC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Seitz; sister Harriet Martin; and one granddaughter. She is survived by her husband, Bob of West Point; children, Barbara Morris of Ashland, Virginia, Mary of Orlando, Florida, Joe and Paul, both of Starkville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
