SULLIGENT, Ala. — Bishop Billy Ray Adams, 70, died Dec. 30, 2017, at Courtyards Community Living in Fulton. Services are at 2 p.m. today at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Phillips, Bishop Aaron Gann and Bishop Alton Bristow officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville Cemetery. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Adams was born to the late William Ray Adams and Elizabeth Vernell Adams Robertson. He was a graduate of Sulligent High School, a licensed radio personality and a credentialed minister. He was formerly employed with WKLF in Clanton, WVSA and WJEC in Vernon and other radio stations in Marion, Winfield, Booneville and Amory. He also had his own ad agency. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Ray Adams. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Adams of Sulligent; brother, Bishop Ricky Adams of Sumiton; sisters, Annette Chandler of Maplesville and Barbara McCurdy of Vernon; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rev. Mark Dean, Rev. Thad Hawkins, Rev. Ed Nelson, Rev. Keith Chandler, Rev. Michael Mann, Rev. Foster Wallace, Rev. Chris Oliver and Rev. Deric Rea.
