DANCY, Ala. — Peggy King died March 10, 2018, at her residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Aliceville, Alabama with the Rev. Dr. Tom Kay and the Rev. Jason Housewright officiating. Visitation will follow at the church fellowship hall. A private family graveside service will follow. Peggy was born in Mutoto, Belgian Congo on June 1, 1926. She attended Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated with a nursing degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was formerly employed as a registered and surgical nurse. She was the Director of Nurses at South and North Pickens County Hospitals. She later became Clinical Director of West Alabama Emergency Medical Services. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Aliceville. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D “Sunny” King; her parents, Rev. Earl Spottswood King and wife, Margaret Orcelia Bissett King; and brother, Rev. Earl Spottswood King Jr. She is survived by her sister, Ginny Ann King Dyer of Atlanta, Georgia; children, William “Bill” King; Allyson Cagle, Howard King, David King and Nancy Ferren; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
