WEST POINT — John Willard “Johnny” Hamblin, 72, died May 21, 2018, at his residence. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Sallee and Rev. R.C. Bryan officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hamblin was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Muriel Green Barnett and Douglas Hamblin. He was self-employed as a machinist and formerly employed with American Can Co. He was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Barnett. He is survived by his wife, Gail White Hamblin of West Point; daughters, Brandi Vest of Missoula, Montana and Amanda Hamblin of West Point; brothers, Thomas “Tommy” Hamblin of Georgia and William “Bill” Barnett of Texas; and two grandchildren.
