STARKVILLE — Deborah Warren Valentine, 64, died June 13, 2018, at her residence. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Starkville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Pugh officiating. Private burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Valentine was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Palmerdale, Alabama, to Mary Warren and the late Charles Warren. She was a 1971 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School and a 1975 and 1976 graduate of the University of Alabama. She was formerly employed with the University of Alabama’s Athletic Department and Mississippi State University. She was also a secondary guidance counselor at Starkville Academy and an academic counselor at EMCC Mayhew. She was a member of Starkville First United Methodist Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Rush Valentine, Jr. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, William Rush Valentine, III of Miramar Beach, Florida; daughter, Mary Malinda Hill of Biloxi; brother, Doug Warren of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and one grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John Croyle Big Oak Ranch, P.O. Box 507, Springfield, AL 35146.
