MACON — Charlie Mae Scales, 59, died July 15, 2018, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Spencer officiating. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Scales was born July 25, 1958, in Tunica, to the late Charles Ector and Mayola G. Hamp. She was a graduate of Rosa Fort High School and nursing school in Memphis Tennessee. She was formerly employed with Methodist Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Eric Anderson and Timothy Lucious. She is survived by her husband, Alvin Scales; children, Krista No’ell Scales, Dionne Bowens of Tunica, Jerry Anderson of Cleveland, Tennessee, Jewel Scales, James Scales, Jennifer Dixon and Joyce Scales, all of Brooksville and Melvin Scales of Caledonia; siblings, Lonnie Tisdell of Dundee, Marilynn Miller of Tunica, Mayola Tuggle, Stanley Jones and Jennifer Goter, all of Atlanta, Georgia, John Jones and Carla Johnson, both of Memphis, Tennessee and Jeanette Blayde of Walls; 28 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
