SULLIGENT, Ala. — Charles “Bud” Houston Comer Sr., 73, died Sept. 6, 2018, at Generations of Vernon in Vernon, Alabama. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy May officiating. Burial followed at Wofford Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Comer was born May 7, 1945, in Lamar County, to the late Willie T. Comer and Bena Chandler. He attended Sulligent schools. He was formerly employed as a carpenter and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Malinda Wooten Comer of Sulligent; sons, Charles Comer Jr. and Johnny Crane, both of Sulligent, Terry Comer of Harmon Town and Mike Comer of Michigan City; stepsons, Danny Pugh of Mooreville, Frankie Pugh of Caledonia and Arthur Pugh of Guntown; daughters, Tina Comer of Harmon Town and Teresa Grant of East St. Louis, Illinois; stepdaughters, Angeleah Wilson of Sulligent and Rachel Crane of Red Bay; brothers, Jerry Comer of Sulligent and Roger Comer of Sardis; sisters, Jean Rogers of Ft. Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Austin Comer, Seth Comer, Tyler Pugh, Cody Pugh, Cory Westmoreland and Dalton Pugh.
