ALABASTER, Ala. — William Betts, 69, died Sept. 9, 2018, at Brookwood Baptist Heath in Birmingham, Alabama. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Christian Hill M.B. Church in Brooksville with the Rev. Bobby Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon. Carter’s Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Betts was born Dec. 25, 1948, in Noxubee County, to the late Frank Betts and Fannie Bee Betts. He was formerly employed as an engineer with Telephonics Corporation in Huntington, New York. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie C. and Lee Albert “Ham” Betts. He is survived by his children, Yolanda “Faye” Betts of Alabaster, Donya Robinson of Columbus, Shamel Anthony of Jacksonville, Florida and Devon “Von” Betts of Huntington; siblings, Pearlie Betts of Macon, Marie Showers, Betty Betts, Julia Betts, Jimmie Betts, Tommy Betts, Paul Betts, Claudie Betts and Henry Betts, all of Huntington; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
