STARKVILLE ó Jack Watson Haynes, 79, died Sept. 10, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Welch Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Pickering, Dr. Chip Stevens and the Rev. Clifton Curtis. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Morgan Chapel Cemetery in Sturgis. Visitation will be from 5:30-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Haynes was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Floyce Watson Haynes and Mary Vester Smith Haynes. He was a graduate of Hinds Jr. College and Mississippi State University and was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran. He was formerly employed as a entomologist with the USDA and was a member of First Baptist Church in Starkville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Haynes. He is survived by his wife, Carole Henry Haynes of Starkville; daughter, Charlotte Pickering of Sulligent, Alabama; son, Father Scott A. Haynes of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Judy White and Brenda Prince; brothers, Joe Haynes, Mike Haynes and Danny Haynes; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Fatherís Child Ministry, P.O. Box 9251, Columbus, MS 39705 or to the Audio Tech Ministry Fund at First Baptist Church, 106 E. Lampkin St., Starkville, MS 39759.
