WEST POINT — Mary Horn Lester, 85, died Sept. 9, 2018, at the Village at Germantown in Germantown, Tennessee. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in West Point. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lester was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Raleigh, to the late J.B. and Minnie Bruce Horn. She was a graduate of Raleigh High School and a 1973 graduate of Mississippi State College for Women. She was formerly employed as an elementary school teacher with Oak Hill Academy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lester; sister, Alowayne Dowdle; and brother, John Benjamin Horn Jr. She is survived by her sons, Monty Lest of Collierville, Tennessee and Lance Lester of Nashville, Tennessee; sisters, Nina Hawkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Laura Simanskey of Venice, Florida and Minnie Merle Boykin of Raleigh; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Jamey Ballard, John Cherney, Dwayne Daniels, Tommy Henley, Brook Lester and Tyler Lester. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
