CRAWFORD — Freddie B. Bridges, 59, died Dec. 9, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Golden Triangle. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Charity Full Gospel Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon to 5 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Chapel. Mr. Bridges was born Dec. 19, 1952, to the late Johnson Bridges Sr., of Crawford and the late Lillie Shelton Bridges. He retired from United Technology after 32 years. He was a member of Oakland MB Church and was troop leader for Boy Scouts of America Troop #51 and little league coach. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Bridges III. Survivors include his wife, Doris Malone Bridges of Crawford; son, Dwayne Bridges of Jacksonville, Fla., Eric L. Bridges of Atlanta, Ga., Laronza Bridges of Charlotte, N.C., and Toshon C. Bridges of Crawford; sisters, Betty Phillips and Mary Ann Dixon, both of Crawford, Martha Howard of Holly Springs and Debbie Brown of Orlando, Fla.; and brothers, Walter Bridges and Danny Bridges, both of Crawford. Pallbearers are former baseball players and Boy Scouts of America Troop 51.
