Will Allen, Jr., 91, passed away on December 10, 2012, at his residence in Starkville, MS. Mr. Allen served in C Army Tenth Mountain Division 616 Field Artillery during World War II and was a 1940 graduate of Mooreville High School in Mooreville, MS. He was a Sales Supervisor with Dairymen, Inc. and later was Receiving Clerk for Oktibbeha County. He was a member of Artesia United Methodist Church, American Legion (a former commander of Post 13) and a lifetime member of VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Anderson Allen and Mittie Lou Priddy Allen; wife, Lucille Estes Allen; and siblings, Faye Burgess, Joe Allen, Clyde Allen and Ruby Brooks. He is survived by his children, Carolyn Ann Allen and William David Allen, both of Starkville, MS; grandchildren, Paul Allen of Decatur, IL, Carolee Allen of Fort Myers, FL, Jennifer Allen of Jacksonville, FL and Mike Allen (Amber) of Decatur, IL; great grandchildren, Megan Allen and Ethan Allen of Decatur, IL (Mike and Amber's children). Visitation for Mr. Allen is scheduled for Friday, December 14, 2012, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sandra Brown will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
