Juanita Browning



Juanita L. Browning, 69, of Caledonia, MS passed away, Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Browning will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from 11:00 AM 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Arlis Barksdale officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Browning was born October 22, 1943, to the late Louie & Mary Lee Stokes Bell in Liberty, AL. She moved to Caledonia from Liberty, AL 50 years ago and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, Millport, AL. Mrs. Browning retired in 2001 as a seamstress from Seminole Manufacturing after 35 years of service. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an avid Alabama Football fan. Mrs. Browning was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by her brothers - Charles Bell and James Bell; and sisters - Pauline Shaw and Hilda Prescott. Mrs. Browning is survived by her daughters Kathy (Dewayne) Littles, Columbus, MS, Lisa (Gary) Richardson, Columbus, MS, Kay (Chris) Patterson, Ethelsville, AL, Rene (Jason) Vasser, Columbus, MS, Becky Browning, Columbus, MS, Lynn (Joe) Browning, Columbus, MS and Robbie (Adam) Brown, Columbus, MS; sisters Sally Faye Frye, Caledonia, MS and Nell Boone, Columbus, MS; 14 grandchildren Brandy Andrews, Robert Dale Brownlee, Ashley Whitten, Amanda Drish, Valarie Braddock, Jeffery Barksdale, Lee Elingburg, Lindsey Elingburg, Austin Rowland, Madison Johnson, Bryce Brown, Walker Brown, Andrew Vasser and Dawson Vasser, 8 great-grandchildren, her longtime special companion Steve Spencer; and her pet companion Lucy. Pallbearers will be Kenny Frye, Eddie Shaw, Danny Boone, Willie Mack, Scott Boone and Jason Vasser. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Lance Busch, Jennifer McBride, Gentiva Home Health, Dr. Robert Buckley and Baptist Cancer Center. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
