OBITUARY
Catherine Gardner
COLUMBUS — Catherine H. Gardner, 71, died Jan. 13, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Golden Triangle. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant MB Church with the Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is today from 2-6 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home. Mrs. Gardner was born Sept. 21, 1941, to the late Mariah Lou Harris and Julius Hairston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Henry Harris; and sisters, Navelle Harris, Estella Mickens and Dorothy Jean Harris. Survivors include her husband, Edgar T. Gardner; daughters, Rosie Jones, Angela Gardner and Cutrell Gardner, all of Columbus; sons, Johnny Cockrell, Albert Cockrell and Thomas Taylor, all of Columbus and Willie Cockrell of Starkville; sisters, Elnora Pointer of Memphis, Tenn., and Sallie Mae Harris of Detroit; and brother, Lonzell Harris of Columbus. Pallbearers are Paul Mason, Roger Allen, Henry Harris, Marion Kyles, Marcus Kyles and Woodrick Jones.
