GORDO, Ala. — Lenore “Nonie” Vaughan Wiginton, 66, died Jan. 23, 2013, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gordo First United Methodist Church Family Life Center with the Rev. Bart Bowlin officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wiginton was born June 21, 1946, to the late Thomas “Presh” Vaughan and Betty McAlpine Vaughan. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gordo and was a retired beautician. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sara Shirley. Survivors include her husband, Max Clark Wiginton Sr. of Gordo; sons, Max Clark Wiginton Jr. og Gordo and Thomas O’Neal Wiginton of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers are Dr. Ted Vaughan, Mike McAlpine, W.J. “Bo” McAlpine, Robert “Shot” McAlpine, H. Harold Yoder, Blake Corbin, Danny Duffy and Bruce Dyer. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 343, Gordo, AL 35466.
