OBITUARY
George McEwen
PONCHATOULA, La. — George Clifton McEwen, 59, died Jan. 27, 2013, in Elmwood, La. Services are Thursday at 10 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Funeral home with the Rev. Ricky James officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. McEwen was born Dec. 17, 1953, to the late Charles Monroe McEwen and Eva Pierce McEwen. He was formerly employed with the Illinois Central Railroad and the Canadian National Railway. Survivors include his wife, Janey Hartley McEwen of Ponchatoula; daughter, Amy McEwen Berest of San Antonio; son, William Derrick McEwen of Columbus; sister, Frances McEwen of Jackson; and one grandchild. Pallbearers are Cliff Shields, Paul Salvo, Bill McManus, Shawn McRae, Max Berest and Johnny Phillips. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
