WEST POINT — Evie Ophelia McDougal Watson, 104, died March 4, 2013. Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Samuel Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation is today from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Watson was born Feb. 28, 1909, in Cedar Bluff to the late Hattie Ophelia Murphy McDougal and Edward Monroe McDougal. She was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lee Watson; sons, Charles Watson and James E. Watson; daughter, Helen Watson; sisters, Lucille Wight, Marie Henley, Jessie Lee Jones, Annie Hamby, Bessie Seymore, Willie Mae Waldrep, Minnie Woolbright and Ruth Blakeney; brothers, Edward McDougal and Jodie McDougal; and one granddaughter. Survivors include her sons, Oliver Lee Watson of West Point and Thomas E. Watson of Baton Rouge. La.; daughter, Nell Valentine; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
