OBITUARY
Donald Zacharias
STARKVILLE — Dr. Donald Wayne Zacharias, 77, died March 3, 2013. Memorial services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mississippi State University Colvard Student Union’s Foster Ballroom. Dr. Zacharias was born Sept. 28, 1935, to the late William and Estelle Newlon Zacharias. He was formerly employed as president of Mississippi State University and Western Kentucky University. He was a graduate of Indiana University where he earned a master of arts degree and a doctor of philosophy degree and was a graduate of Georgetown College where earned a bachelor of arts degree. Survivors include his wife, Tommie Kline Zacharias of Starkville; sons, Alan Scott Zacharias and Eric Neil Zacharias, both of Boulder; daughter, Leslie Kline Zacharias of Boulder; sister, Mary Catherine Zacharias Collier of Yacaipa, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the MSU Department of Communication, c/o MSU Foundation, P.O. Box 6149, Mississippi State, MS 39762 or to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 105 North Montgomery St., Starkville, MS 39759.
