OBITUARY
John Land
COLUMBUS — John Land, 84, died March 3, 2013, at Covington County Hospital in Collins. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Land was born Sept. 24, 1928, in Columbus to the late John Wales Land Sr. and Augusta B. Ward. He was a member of Plymouth Baptist Church and was the retired owner of Land’s Frame and Body Shop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Glover Land. Survivors include his daughters, Betsy Dye of Mount Airy, Ga., Ceci Land of Starkville and Claire Hamilton of Hattiesburg; siblings, Jane Harper and Waymon Fendley, both of Columbus and Bill Fendley of West Point; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
