PHEBA — Earl E. “Bub” Thompson, 82, died. Services were today at Calvert Funeral Home with the rev. Terry Rhodes officiating. Burial with masonic graveside rites followed in Pheba Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born July 5, 1930, in Clay County to the late Ray Edwin and Alice Clark Thompson Terry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as an E-6 Staff Sergeant and also retired as Postmaster from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Pheba Baptist Church and Pheba Masonic Lodge #565 F&AM. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Lynn Williams; and stepfather, James R. Terry. Survivors include his wife, Norma Lee Sharp Thompson of Pheba; daughters, Becky McNeel and Kay Davidson, both of Pheba; sisters, Ruth Echols of West Point and Catherine “Sis” Brown of Pheba; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Coby McNeel, Jake Davidson, Brad LAtham, Jeremy Harpole, Ethan Williams and Wyatt Latham. Memorials may be made to Pheba Cemetery Fund, c/o Becky McNeel, P.O.
