SULLIGENT, Ala. — Nellie Hawkins, 76, died March 31, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Keeton and Edward Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilmer Addition of the Sulligent City Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Hawkins was born May 11, 1936, in Lamar County, Ala., to the late Robert and Agnes Bowen Blaylock. She was a graduate of Marion County High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She was formerly employed with Reltoc Manufacturing and was a member of New Centerpoint Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Hawkins; and sister, Lee Williams. Survivors include her husband, Bob Hawkins of Sulligent; son, Greg Hawkins of Vernon, Ala.; brothers, James Blaylock of Maryland and G.B. Blaylock of Guin, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
