‘Tuffy’ was also a prep gridiron star
The Dispatch sports dept. should know that “Tuffy” really was a great football player; the 1950 Aberdeen Bulldog team went undefeated … led by their star running back “Tuffy” Bourland. They scored 292 points in just nine games.
My father, “Shag” Goolsby was the football coach at Aberdeen from 1946 to 1950; my dad always said that he was a successful coach because of “Tuffy” Bourland.
