On my mind ...
According to Wyatt Emmerich Mississippi is vastly improving fiscally and in government accountability and openness under Republican leadership. Don't let the liberals find that out! Better yet, don't let the voters find out. Perhaps the leadership in Columbus and other troubled cities could take a cue from the State leadership and improve things locally. Nah. Why upset the applecart.
An opera star is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at this year's Super Bowl. Great. Maybe this time we'll hear it sung as written, instead of butchered by Stephen Tyler and Roseanne Barr and every other "singer" who can't follow notes. I didn't watch the World Series last year so I can only hope.
The "Our View" column a couple of days ago should be required reading for every American. Too often we "celebrate" our Holidays just on that one day, and often by pigging out and drinking too much beer or other "adult beverage" instead of reflecting on the true reasons for these special days of remembrance. Shame on us.
Slim's column on committees to form committees to select people to put on committees was classic. He ought to get some kind of journalistic recognition for that one
Lastly, Starkville is making it a no-no to pick on people who wear certain labels. Spare me. What about including Black Conservatives/Republicans? How about conservatives in general? Good manners and acceptable behavior should be taught at home by parents, not decreed by fiat by the government, no matter how PC it is.
