After closely reading all Commercial Dispatch articles on Ferguson and all articles describing the unfolding of the late night events outside of West Point, it has become clear that the Commercial Dispatch editors aren’t really paying attention to consistency and to the facts in each of these cases.
The subtle racism inherent in the editorial choices to wildly blame execution victims for being murdered and to promote false sensationalizing that covers up previously reported bullying incidents only veil the real crimes – institutional racism, war on the poor, militarization of local police forces, national security plantation mentality – is quite obvious to this reader.
The grossly overt racism reflected by the editorial choice to print neighbor Cameron Triplett’s most recent white supremacist rant as a letter to the editor (as well as his other contributions) is frankly insulting for a community newspaper.
The list of other racist editorial policy examples can continue to include many other issues, amongst them The Commercial Dispatch’s naked attack of the Columbus Mayor shortly after giving him accolades for his work in turning around that city.
It seems that The Commercial Dispatch is actually a petty political platform for Tea Klan types. Has this always been the case?
