Supports aldermen in recent decision
A hearty hats-off to Starkville aldermen David Little, Ben Carver, Roy Perkins, Henry Vaughn, and Lisa Wynn for standing up for what is right by overriding the city’s proposed homosexual policy.
Mr. Little is exactly correct when he says aldermen are elected to solve actual problems facing the city and have no business enacting a social policy for the homosexual community.
The leaders of this city should not be wasting their time – and our money – trying to establish rights and privileges to support an underlying practice that is not legally recognized in Mississippi.
There are potholes, cracked streets, street lights that don’t work, and other real infrastructure problems all over this city that need attention, yet some leaders have no problem blowing money on anything other than these real issues.
Further, I suspect that a great many others in this city fully support the actions of these five board members.
Kudos again to Mr. Little and all five alderman for standing up. If I could vote for all five of you, I would.
