Questions about cable rate increases
Cable ONE does it again. The second rate increase in just four months since they were granted a new 5-year contract.
A sports channel surcharge adding up to $3.23 in October 2014 and as of Feb. 1, 2015, a $6 increase for Economy and $10 for Standard.
They raised rates in January 2014 and again in February 2014 again October 2014 and once again as of February 2015.
Our city officials granted them a new 5-year contract with no ability to hold Cable ONE responsible for all their increases or to even be able to require them to provide financial documentation to justify such increases.
Incompetence or is there some darker reason?
Either way the Columbus subscribers are paying the price and need to rise up, speak out and seek an end to such unbridled control by Cable ONE.

Editor’s note: Local Cable ONE General Manager Kenny Wright attributes the rising rates to increases charged by channel programmers. Wright said Cable ONE has sent notices to customers explaining the rate increase.
