Freedom without sacrifice
Memorial Day is a day of picnics and a day off, really? It is a day of remembering the sacrifice of many that gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy. There are those that enjoy this freedom and never think about that fact. The flag is not respected, freedom of speech and expression is use to loot burn and riot. Something is very wrong with this mentality. We have an all-volunteer military, all gave some, some gave all. We all enjoy the freedoms our military fought and died for. Call me old-fashioned but I think every able-bodied young man owes his country some time. Despite the faults we can find with America, the voice we have is our vote. No vote, no voice.
The apathy is shown when only 30% or less vote. I see people on walkers and in wheel chairs come to vote and then many able-bodied citizen (70+%) not even troubling themselves exercising the No. 1 right so many gave their life for.
Wake up people, Vote!
God bless America.
