Faith in oneself
There are many onerous questions in life. What purpose do we serve? What does it mean to truly live? etc. Some find purpose through faith, others through work, and many even find purpose within family. All of these are admirable. But, today, I ask you all to contemplate the aim behind self-indulgence.
Humans will be humans, regardless of age, status or design. Our nature cannot be repressed. For what reason, though, do we as people, feel inclined to leech from the success of others? The possibility that another being is capable of advancing a community and even the world, should bring joy to all those involved, not spark a debate on whether said person is deserving of the praise they receive. Though you may be left nameless, why not appreciate the betterment of our race?
The audacity behind calling someone who is simply seeking satisfaction from living daily life the way they feel most comfortable — even if they have been placed in a position of prominence — is shameful. A certain level of diplomacy should be taken into account when disputing any cause, but I digress.
We live in a world where anything is possible. Everyone is given the means to make exactly what they wish of their life. The only thing required of person to do so is a willingness to reach out and take it. I do not deny that there is discrimination among us, but the only way to get past the hate from others is to believe in yourself.
It is hard to put faith in yourself when there is so much negativity thrown towards you. If you truly want to meet your goals, you need only push yourself harder.
Blaming someone else for your own shortcomings is a misguided plight. Make a name for yourself through your hard work, not through belittling someone who merely aspires to make a difference.
