‘Be proactive’
Really, two occurrences of assault in the same general area recently. You say, Be calm. Be alert. Be responsible. Keep your cell phone charged and accessible. How about be armed, legally of course. The bad guys will always have guns. The general public needs to take it serious and be proactive to protect themselves and their property. It takes a little effort to get a carry permit. Classes are offered to teach how to safely use a weapon.
Some might say this is a knee-jerk reaction or an extreme reaction, but I dare say, that if the couple robbed Sunday been armed the two thugs might have changed their mind.
The police can’t be everywhere all the time. Their presence are limited due to the real problem areas we have in our fair city.
Where is the outrage from some of our city fathers? Three innocent citizens minding their own business out for a jog or walk and the unspeakable happens. I have not heard any thing about heads rolling over this. No one was shot in these cases but a weapon was used and it could have turned tragic very fast. Think about it.
Be proactive, be careful and watch out for each other. Columbus is my home and not a bad place to live.
