Appreciates reporting on trip
Kudos to The Dispatch for requesting info on the trip.
While most of us would agree that sympathy acknowledgments are certainly warranted — and appreciated by the family — wouldn’t you think excess of $4,000 on this trip is out of order for the taxpayers?
I question how three rooms could cost almost $1,200 for only two nights — unless they were SUITES or otherwise. I realize all costs have risen, but really, this seems totally ridiculous.
The other thing that really upsets me is that our city council could vote on approval without really knowing how the monies were spent, and how much it truly was.
When do we as taxpayers wake up and smell the roses? Would you not want all the particulars before you voted? I know I would.
Keep up the good work on open meetings and information for us the citizens of Columbus. Thank you for your efforts.
