Wake up, America!
We had an election — fair and square.
The people’s choice was President-elect Donald J. Trump.
I, for one, voted for the person I felt could best help us get back on the right track. If the person you voted for didn’t win, so be it. I dealt with that the last eight years, but never once did I think of vandalizing businesses, disrupting traffic, breaking windows, etc. Wake up, America! We’re better than this.
Do you not realize the entire world is looking at us and wondering what has become of our nation. We have always been the country to be looked upon and admired. Right now, I’m personally ashamed of the certain group of people who choose to disrupt and otherwise create havoc. And it further distresses me to think that colleges and universities are condoning this behavior. What is being taught at these schools?
If anything, we should be upholding the law. We should try to unite our country, not tear it down. We should support our president-elect and whatever department heads he chooses to appoint. We should be as one.
The stars and stripes mean a lot to me and to a lot of other people. What gives anyone the right to dishonor and/or burn the flag? It is a symbol of honor to those who died for this country. How anyone could tear up the flag or burn it is beyond my imagination.
Please, please, let’s bring integrity back to our country. Be respectful of each other.
We can have differences of opinion, but please treat others as you would have them treat you. The Golden Rule is always correct.
